Distance learning Courses for IT Professionals

Student Community

The ICS Student Community is open to both prospective students and studying students to take a your of the site and to find out more about studying with ICS. Once you are registered as a member you’ll be able to find out the latest news from ICS, post messages in forums, access our resource library, and voice your opinions through student surveys.

If you're a student, you'll also gain access to online Student Services, where you will be able to submit test papers and assignments, contact your tutor and access your account - making it even more convenient for you to study from home.

How to Plan Your Study

ICS will furnish you with everything you need to successfully complete your course.  Begin by reading your getting started guide to prepare for the course.  Start your course properly by viewing the courseware introductions.  Once you have a feel for what will be covered in the course, progress through your training, chapter by chapter, reinforcing your learning by reading the corresponding chapter in the Microsoft Textbooks and resources supplied.  Alternatively, if you are interested in a particular area of the course you can navigate straight there using the coursemap.  Once you feel ready to test yourself, try the practice exams & exam simulators provided in preparation for your actual exam.  Exam weightings are included in the course materials to give you an idea of what will be covered in the day.  More specific exam information can be viewed online - consult your study guide for more information.

Getting help from the Tutor

All students have access to the Student Online system, which is accessible through the ICS Community. If you wish to submit a query to your tutor then there is an option for you to leave a message, alternatively if your query is more of an administrative issue, you can choose to email Student Services. To access the Student Online system you will need your registration number and post code.

Chat with others on the Course

On the ICS Student Community you have the option to carry out several activities. Aside from checking the latest news and accessing resources, you can also enter the student forums to leave messages for other students and voice your opinion is our regular student surveys.

Specifically for our IT students we have also created a Knowledge Hub and Peer-to-Peer support community where we encourage students to enter queries and information they feel other students may benefit from.

We also have a Facebook page where we encourage our students to join and make friends with individuals on similar courses.

Exam Preparations

At ICS, we are very keen to ensure that our students are as prepared for their exams as possible. Therefore, within the course textbooks, students are provided with mock exams to simulate the experience and the questions that they may get asked. Students are encouraged to complete these and to look over their results in order to see which areas extra work in needed on.
